Studying is the process of reading and memorising the facts. Learning process of understanding and gaining knowledge by reading. Students tend to study but not learn. The academics score would be good when one learns rather than studying. The process of learning goes hand in hand with the process of studying. We also see that many students spend a lot of time on one single concept or subject and then complain of lack of time for study. One has to speed up the learning process for effective time management. In this article, let us highlight a few tips to accelerate the learning process.

Notes making is a mandatory habit that must be cultivated by every student. These notes act as a summary for the chapter. The notes that are taken while studying can consist in the form of a table, graphs, flow chart etc so that at the later stage revising from these notes would be easier. The notes must comprise important keywords that provide complete knowledge of the topic. During the revision notes play an important role. The notes help in easy grasping and make connections with the concepts. It helps to structure the answers properly.
The questions and answers perform a meaningful role in a student’s course of learning. These questions trigger the minds of the students and urge them to study more. It helps to build confidence and gives good practice. Solving questions enables the writing and presentation skills of the student. A learner will know where he stands and how much more effort must be put up to obtain a good score. The concepts are cleared by solving numerous questions and the learning process becomes easier. Solving biology questions after every chapter helps the students to keep a track of the concepts he has learnt.
The learning technique varies from one person to another. Each one must know his learning technique. Generally, many of us are visual learners as one gets to understand the topic by looking at the diagram, flow chart or tables. Few are auditory learners, who memorise the facts just by listening to the webinar or listening to the teacher in class. Students must know their learning style and adapt those techniques in the learning process to make the process better and simpler. Studying in your learning style aids in better concentration and understanding of the subjects.
Studying too much or too little both adversely affect academic performance. Having a balanced study is a must in academics. One must try to maintain a balance in studies as well as extracurricular activities. We all know the popular saying “All studies and no play makes Jack a dull boy” similarly just focusing on studies and neglecting other activities such as sports and hobbies makes an adverse effect on academics and leads to low grades in the examination. Students must maintain a balance between study and extracurricular activities. The student need not continuously spin his study wheel instead maintain a balance with other activities to perform well.
Our brain cannot swallow everything at once. Studying in a split or chunks is the best way to accelerate the learning process. Studying a subject for hours together will not work out. Instead, one can study a subject and take a break or solve a few science questions and then again resume with regular subjects which yields better results. Studying continuously reduces effectiveness in learning and the capacity of retaining information diminishes as time passes. Studying in chunks helps to follow and maintain a proper schedule. This method also ensures that concentration towards the task is increased during the entire study duration.
The learning process depends on one’s capability and strength. Studying can be a little hard but it becomes interesting when few study techniques are adapted. On the cultivation of good study habits, the mind gets refreshed and the zest to learn more comes up in the minds of the students. The quality of your studying sessions must be improved by the student, not the quantity of the study material. By doing these the entire learning process becomes fruitful and the results can be seen in the academic performance of the students.
