The coronavirus pandemic has forced many people to work from home to curb the spread of the virus. While working from home has its perks, such as setting your own hours and time to work on projects, it has a few disadvantages. For instance, it’s easy to get distracted at home because the environment isn’t as strict as that of a business setting. You may find yourself watching TV, taking long, unnecessary breaks, or spending hours on your phone. And, since no one is holding you accountable, you end up completing fewer tasks, minimizing your productivity and efficiency.
Here are some tips to help you increase efficiency while working from home.

1. Create a comfortable workspace to improve efficiency
Simply because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you should work from your bed or the sofa. This can take a huge toll on your productivity since the setting doesn’t set a “work mood” for the day.
Instead, set up a dedicated workplace in your home with a comfortable desk and chair. This can be at a corner of a room or an entire room, such as your garage. With ADU garage conversion, you can convert your garage into an office, ensuring you’re more organized and alert.
2. Dress-up to improve efficiency
If you want to keep your motivation going, put on your regular work attire or some jeans and a t-shirt. Avoid working in your pajamas because they can make you feel sluggish and sleepy. Remember, when you’ve dressed appropriately, you’ll be more prepared to work psychologically.
3. Have a schedule and stick to it
When you run your own startup, you can work at any time. However, if you don’t have a fixed schedule, it can be detrimental to your productivity. Besides, it’s difficult to keep track of your working hours when you work at your own free will. Try and create a working schedule, and stick to it to maximize your performance.
4. Develop a routine
Setting a consistent routine helps you set the tone for the day. Hence, wake up at your usual time every day and shower, exercise, or meditate before starting your workday. It can be tempting to sleep in on some days, but this can throw off your entire schedule.
