Normally, we tend to associate games as a pastime hobby. Yes, they are indeed hobbies, but there are a lot of games that you do know. For instance, puzzles improve your hand-eye coordination, sharpen your vision, and you know what; they are good in keeping stress away. In young gamers, puzzling has way more benefits than you couldn’t have imagined.

    Table of Contents

    • 1. Boosts your Dopamine Levels
    • 2. Sharpens Special Visual Intelligence
    • 3. Puzzles are Good for Memory Development
    • 4. Puzzles Train Hand and Eye Coordination
    • 5. The Game is Good at Training Social Skills
    • 6. The Game Encourages Independent Learning and Decision Making
    • Conclusion

    1. Boosts your Dopamine Levels

The satisfaction you gate after sliding the final piece of the puzzle is timeless. The feeling is so relaxing and relieving. Your body will be flooded with dopamine in the process. In case you didn’t know, dopamine is a hormone produced in excess when you are happy.

Happiness doesn’t end here; the moment you finish that 5000-piece puzzle, you will be looking forward to a weekend getaway or a meeting with your friends.

    2. Sharpens Special Visual Intelligence

Special visual intelligence was introduced by Howard Gardner as one way of learning through images, patterns, and space of an object. This learning process also revolves around creative thinking.

Various studies show that young players who often played puzzles had better spatial-visual intelligence. Unlike those that did not involve mind-teasing games, these young players also recognized shapes better.

    3. Puzzles are Good for Memory Development

Puzzles have rules which young gamers are required to follow in detail. One of the important parts of these rules is the player will memorize every stage of gaming. Thus the game sharpens the memory of young players.

Also, as players will be memorizing the shapes and patterns, they will be keeping their memories active, thus training them.

    4. Puzzles Train Hand and Eye Coordination

For you to play puzzles, there must exist a link between your eyes and hands. Your eyes look on the board, and your hand moves accordingly. With time, your hand and eye coordination will be honed well, just like what happens when you learn typing until you become a pro.

    5. The Game is Good at Training Social Skills

In this era of the internet, socialization is basically the order of life. But while most of the users find it to socialize through social media, meeting from movies, or watching football matches, some people find it very hard even if they have all the ingredients of making new friends.

Fortunately, puzzling can enhance your socialization skills. Just find friends with whom you share the same interest with the game and play together; eventually, you will find yourself sharing other aspects of your life and increasing the social circle.

    6. The Game Encourages Independent Learning and Decision Making

Puzzling is all about making sole decisions on which pieces to use. The more you play, the more you depend more on yourself, thus promoting independent decision-making. Independent decision-making is an invaluable asset in real life.

    Conclusion

Playing puzzles has lots of benefits to the mind, body, and soul. It promotes learning; it is a form of entertainment and encourages independent learning. In the near future, we will bring more about the game, stay connected.
