For a while, it appeared that auto theft was going the way of the payphone and the horse-and-buggy.

Car theft rates were drastically down in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The number of auto thefts has dropped by 60% in various US regions. It becomes possible only with the help of advanced technologies. Now owners can protect their vehicle with GPS trackers for car and avoid being a victim of thieves.

As more and more stolen automobiles were found by the authorities using data from GPS monitoring devices of GPS Accuracy, chop shops and illegal car exporting activities were forced out of business.

The FBI then reports that auto theft rates increased by around 9% in the first half of 2020. In the final six months of 2020, car theft rates increased by 13%.

Car theft rates in Los Angeles, which was mostly under lockdown in 2020, increased by 60% [source].

The lockdown wasn’t the cause. Key fobs, which far too many motorists keep in their cup holders, were the cause.

Cars began to have engine immobilizers in the late 1990s that could only be unlocked by a microchip that was preprogrammed in the key fob.

According to data gathered by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the number of car thefts decreased by 50% from 1.7 million per year in 1991 to just 850,000 per year in 2011. It appeared that technology had mostly resolved the issue of stolen autos.

Following that, folks began leaving their key fobs in their cup holders. Additionally, when hundreds of thousands of individuals found employment in 2020 with companies like Favor, Doordash, and Instacart, drivers began leaving the engine running while rushing inside to complete a short delivery.

6,858 automobiles were stolen in New York City in 2020, an increase from 3,988 the year before. The same adolescent driving a stolen automobile was detained by NYPD officers twice in one day, in two separate vehicles. In Los Angeles, a vehicle thief told authorities that it was less expensive to steal automobiles than to use Uber.

Nothing substitutes for shutting off the engine before exiting the vehicle and bringing all of your keys with you. However, even experienced fleet drivers occasionally forget to take their keys with them. GPS tracking is becoming more crucial than ever because of this.

GPS monitoring systems may provide you with real-time information about the whereabouts and speed of any vehicle in your fleet. When your cars cross the lines of the geofences you’ve specified, GPS can let you know.

Your cars’ mileage, adherence to predetermined routes, where they were parked, when they were parked, how long they were parked, and the operator’s driving safety may all be determined using GPS monitoring. You may get information about fuel economy and maintenance problems using GPS tracker from SEEWORLDGPS.

GPS monitoring technology can convey the same information to an app on your phone that it can provide the dispatcher of a fleet of cars if you are only wanting to maintain tabs on a personal vehicle, such as your family car when your adolescent is driving it.

You can monitor your car’s location and your teen’s driving behavior to help keep them safe.

Additionally, if your car is ever stolen, GPS monitoring can tell you where it is.

Your GPS tracking gadget picks up GPS satellite signals, which enables its internal computer to determine your vehicle’s longitude and latitude with a 95 percent accuracy to within 25 feet.

Every 15 seconds, typical tracking devices update their position information. Cell phone towers are used by your GPS tracking equipment to send tracking data to an app on your phone (for your personal car) or your work computer for dispatching reasons.

You may let the police know where your automobile is if it has been stolen so they can look into it. Investigations into grand theft autos are not something you can undertake on your own.

Always trust police enforcement to retrieve a stolen car for your safety and convenience when submitting a claim with your insurance provider.

If your vehicle has GPS tracking installed, you may have as much as a 70% chance of recovering it if it is stolen. even while your key fob is still in the cupholder.
