These are the moments that we all look forward to during the holiday season. Mozy, for example, opens its doors to acknowledge the onset of Christmas and the start of the holiday shopping season. While we know it’s important to go out and buy those gift certificates and other presents, we seldom forget that safety is also a key aspect of project management industry. It is no surprise that in such a rush to shop we forget to be a few steps ahead of the scammers who are also in a hurry. These are the thieves who make a living by stealing credit card numbers, bank account details, and other vital information. If they can acquire this information, they can take over a persons identity, leaving them to pay for credit purchases with the thief’s money. Managing it like a professional project management courses can really help boost productivity.

This is a very brief article but I hope it will help you to stay a step ahead of these thieves and save you money!

First of all, if you are a serious online shopper, you should have a very good credit card to protect your sensitive information. However, in reality, this cannot be control as much as you hope. The best you can do is to put in place all the safety measures that credit card companies or project management like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and others have in place to protect your data. This includes EV-2/EFTP as well as SSL encryption.

Stay away from companies that do not support your card

If you stumble into a site that is providing content that is against your beliefs, it is best to leave this site immediately. In fact, you should try to avoid any site that provides content that isagent of fraud.

If you are shopping, do not click on a link that asks for personal information. If you are unable to view the site, then you must phone the company to confirm that the site is legitimate.

Do not give out bank account details or social security numbers unless you are paying for something. Bank account details can be used to will you to carry out a costly transaction down the road.

This is really important. Identity thieves can use these bank account details to rob you blind. Once they get your bank account details they can run up charges in your account that you will not be able to clear off.

Check for that yellow lock symbol

When you start surfing, you will probably see a yellow lock symbol. This means that the site is certified as fully secure. This is great, but the confidence that it has this may be another story entirely. unbeknown to you, the site may be a fake, and the confidentially held equity may be traded on the fake.

The best thing you can do is to report any suspicious activity immediately. You can do this by printing a copy of the message on the site, taking a photo of thereadable page, and then sending this to thecompany@(domain name)youwillcall.com. They will be able to enlighten you as to whether or not the e-mail is legit.

To be on the safer side, do not respond to e-mails requesting personal information unless you have managed to verify with that company that they are who they say they are. I would likewise advise you to notify your banks and credit card companies about any suspicious activity on your account.

A picture says a thousand words

Taking a photo of the restricting sign is one of the best ways to instantly tell whether or not the site is secured. There are shutterbugs who take a photo of the web address you see on their site and post it on their own site. Keep in mind that these hackers usually do this just to alter the content on your site, or to send stuff to you that they can sell to other people. If you have a response from your project management company, then you can relax, and know that they are on Top.

A secure site means that they have taken steps to make sure that anyone who is on the site with you will not be able to see any of your personal information. Typically, they have programs built in to allow you to know when someone is trying to get access to your site. They also have systems in place to help protect you from unauthorized access. For example, when you go to a site and the encode software actually starts to check the various entranceways into the site, and they will stop after you have entered your username and password. Then when you come back to the site, the access will be blocked off.

When you are on an unsecured site, everything can be ruined. Things like this can cause your site to be flagged as a bad location, and it becomes difficult to search for sites that are supposed to be accessible. When you are on a secured site, however, everything should be safe.
