All About Storyline, Characters, Origin
It took six years for the franchise to come up with its sequel when Bandai Namco Pictures announced that they are working on season 2 latest by December 2020 for release later in 2021. Here is all you need to know about the show’s future, release date, storyline, and characters, including God Eaters’ origin.
Characters and story of Season 1
The show begins by introducing us to the apocalyptic world where Aragami is on a rampage. Aragami ruled tyrannical red dragons known as Vajra. Humanity stood no chance against their might because even Gods were powerless before them. The only way to defeat this breed was through mysterious “God Arcs” that transform humans into terrifying giants called God Eaters who could eat anything except God Eaters. However, no one knew why or how they came into existence. Their mission was to wipe off these monsters because nobody knows what would happen if there were no God Eaters in the world.
Lenka Utsugi’s adoptive father sends him to a God Eater training school. It was here that he met other young people whom the organization took in for similar reasons. The trainees spend most of their time training and learning about Aragami using Holographic Terminals. Only one of the two can return from the expedition alive. Unfortunately, it is not Lenka but Lindow Amamiya. He barely made it to base camp before dying later.
After recovering from this incident due to his carelessness, Lindow sent on a new expedition with Lenka Utsugi. This time the task is to find out why their HQ has suddenly gone silent. Aragami has already breached the base, which God Eaters immediately destroy, preventing maximum damage.
The main characters can locate the source of the problem, but Vajra dragons surround them before reaching there. At this moment, Lenka discovers he has Aragami powers and realizes that he needs to eat one of them. For his God Eater’s ability to awaken and save everyone’s life. He succeeds in subduing one while it is busy devouring humans and eats it alive.
As soon as Lindow recovers from his injuries, the squad sets off to terminate a dangerous Aragami. But they have no clue what is in store for them as their power is too much to handle. Luckily, Urd Geales, one of their seniors, comes to their rescue and kills it. Later, he explains that this Aragami had been terrorizing God Eaters for a long and Lenka’s victory was a significant achievement.

The story continues from where season 1 ended, so there will be no retelling or recap of the earlier events. We can expect more action and better CG work this time around, as Bandai Namco has planned to make this show even better than before.
