Did you know that an important part of cremation residues is metals that remain after the cremation process? Well, metals that undergo the cremation process need to be managed in some way, and that’s where Cremation Recycling enters the picture.

Cremation refers to a process in which a life-less object is burned into ashes which is mostly organic. Whereas the inorganic or metallic objects cannot be burnt off and are often recycled for the use in future.

It is one of the most common religious practices carried out to date. However, scientists have now stated that cremation recycling can be a benefit and can save the environment too. If you want to know more about cremation recycling then keep reading below.

After the demise of a body, the cremation process is carried out. Most of the organic part is burnt off but metallic objects such as dental implants, prostheses, crowns, and bridges often contain valuable metals which can be reused. Moreover, some dental materials such as silver amalgam fillings contain mercury and so their disposal in the sewage or seawater is a threat to marine life.  Therefore recycling them is preferred over any other activity.

Some of the most valuable metals that can be found after the cremation process are (they commonly come from dental scrap):

    sliver

    gold

    palladium

    zirconia

    porcelain fused to metal crown

    platinum

    Cobalt

    Chromium

    Nickel

    Titanium

Where are these metals used in dentistry?

It is not very surprising to say that most dental prostheses are made from metals. The reason is that metals are strong, malleable, and ductile. The above-listed metals are used for implant screws, orthodontic wires, inlays, onlays, filling materials, removable partial dentures, bridges, and crowns.

    Why is cremation recycling important?

Besides everything, the most important thing is to know why cremation recycling is important.

    A good source of income:

This might sound very unlikely that how can one earn through a dental scrap which is cremated and recycled! Well, disposing of very worthy materials is a very unwise decision. Sending them to a precious metal refiner like Core Scientific can generate a passive income for any crematory, and Core Scientific pays 2-to-5 times more than other refiners!

    Charity:

The valuables after cremation and recycling can be donated to those in need. You never know the materials you threw off in the name of waste can be a means of bread and butter for someone.

    Eco-friendly environment:

The manufacturing of materials used in the dental industry causes a great deal of threat to the environment. This is because of the complex processes metals undergo for their fabrication. The fumes and smoke generated from the mining process are the major reason for acid rain, deforestation, and pollution of the environment. Mining processes are dangerous and are also very expensive in today’s time. Over the last year, Core Scientific has contributed to reducing over 2,674 million tons of CO2 emissions.

    Conclusion

The next time you come across any material as such then think twice before disposing of it carelessly. Instead, seek assistance from the cremation centers. They will perform cremation recycling and will also offer you some bucks in return. You can say it is a new kind of trade that works globally and alleviates a lot of environmental hazards
