For all, you Play station lovers out there, especially those who like to play RPGs. Today we will look at some of the not so famous RPGs. Games that don’t usually come to your mind when you think of console RPG.
Table of Contents
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy VII needs no introduction. It is one of the most loved RPGs in video game history. This remake manages to revive it in a more than worthy way, with spectacular graphics and a modernized action-style combat system (but with the possibility to restore the classic turn-based one).
The game covers only the first part of the story told in the original title, with some variations on the plot (which I won’t reveal to you, don’t worry!); it should therefore be considered as the first chapter of an adventure that will continue, we do not yet know when and how much. Either way, its conclusion is more than satisfactory and does not leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. Then we want to talk about the historic soundtrack in a remastered version? If you are a Final Fantasy fan, it would be crazy to not purchase this title. If you are not, you could become a fan of the saga, thanks to this spectacular remake!
Kingdom Hearts 3
Also made by Square Enix, like Final Fantasy, but in collaboration with Disney, Kingdom Hearts 3 is the chapter that finally concludes (after more than ten years of waiting) the story of Sora and his companions started on PS2. It is one of the best and long-lived video games that blends the great potential of RPGs with the universes of the most famous Disney films. In this third chapter, it will be possible to visit, among many others, the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, that of Frozen, that of Monsters & Co. and that of Toy Story where Sora, Donald and Goofy (the protagonists) will be transformed into toys to help Woody and Buzz fight the evil hearthless and organization XIII, the historical enemies of the saga.
As per tradition, Kingdom Hearts 3 maintains its frenetic gameplay, its worlds full of objects to find and the mini-games that have made the brand’s history. These include the possibility of creating and piloting the Gummiship, the spaceship that is built a bit like a LEGO structure used by heroes to travel from one world to another. If you have played the previous chapters, you must start discovering Kingdom Hearts 3 too. If you haven’t played them, I’m happy for you because you can play the whole saga on PS4 for the price of a single game.
Persona 5 Royal
The last chapter of the Persona series developed by Atlus is what we can define as the best JRPG of the moment, a particular type of Japanese-style RPG with a strong emphasis on characters and the representation of these (often anime style and deformed). RPG is made in an oriental way but extremely rich in missions and things to do, capable of lasting for hundreds of hours. For fans of the Persona series, you can easily throw yourself into this chapter. Suppose you do not know the Persona 5 Royal saga. In that case, it is the best episode to start first because it is one of the very few games in the saga to have been localized in Italian and then because it is the one with the most direct gameplay that rejuvenates the turn-based mechanics a bit for a much more active setting.
The player personifies a boy who, to save a woman from an attack, wounds the guilty man, and for this, he is arrested by the police. So he is expelled from his school and goes to live with an acquaintance of his parents, who agrees to take him under his wing. Still, soon the young man will find himself having to deal with a mysterious app impossible to delete and which transports him to mysterious palaces and Castles RPGs. As you may have understood, the plot draws heavily from the manga and anime landscape, and if you are passionate about these products, Persona 5 Royal is the RPG that’s right for you.
Path of Exile
Last but not least, Path of Exile is one of my favourite game on this list. Most of you might know it as a PC game, but its publishers Grinding Gear Games, released it on consoles as well, Both PS and Xbox. The plot of the game is set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. You, as a player, wake up on the shore of this massive continent and have to traverse it while questing and hunting monsters. Fans of the Diablo series will find many similarities in both games as it borrows heavily for it.
Players can choose from seven different classes. Each class of characters has its attributes and skills, which are only enhanced by adding items and attaching gems. And this is how we jump into the item based economy of the game, which plays a huge role. Players can get buy and sell these items using poe currency ps4. But that is not the only way to get these items, and you can also get them by completing quests and killing bosses and looting chests. As you enhance your character, you progress further and further in the game.
The best part of the game is that it is free to play, and despite being multiplayer, the gameplay is instanced in such a manner that each player gets to enjoy the game on his terms, without any interruptions from other players. But there is always party options for folks who want to play together. Overall the game is well balanced and fun to play.
