Facebook sues South Korean analytics company Rankwave over statistics misuse. Facebook is suing Rankwave for illegal use of information for advertising and marketing.
The Social media website is currently requesting a judge to force Rankwave to let it audit the company’s actions to determine if user information sold.
A source at Facebook told the BBC that they are not able to state how much or how many consumers might be affected.
Jessica Romero is Facebook’s director of platform enforcement. She said, “Facebook was examining Rankwave’s data practices about its marketing and advertising solutions.”
He also said, “Rankwave failed to co-operate with our attempts to confirm their adherence to our policies, which we need from developers utilizing our system.”
As per court records filed in California on Friday, Facebook is suing Rankwave of utilizing at least 30 distinct apps to”monitor and analyze” likes & comments on Facebook pages.
